Virtual tour of Serge Gainsbourg's house

Visite virtuelle de la Maison de Serge Gainsbourg

An Inclusive Virtual Tour of Serge Gainsbourg's House for the Gainsbourg Museum

I created the virtual tour of Serge Gainsbourg's house specifically for people with disabilities. This immersive experience allows all of the artist's admirers to discover his intimate world. The 360° shots were taken in very high definition (60k), allowing the user to see every detail. In a way, even better than visitors going in-situ. The sound ambiance is that of the in-situ tour, produced by Soundwalk Collective with narration by Charlotte Gainsbourg.

“First one knock, then three more… we’ll let you in.”

Inclusion and Accessibility

The Gainsbourg Museum is committed to making culture accessible to all. We developed this virtual tour to overcome barriers for people with disabilities. Thanks to its ultra-high definition, everyone can explore every nook and cranny of Serge Gainsbourg's house. Other examples of virtual tours for people with disabilities can be viewed here. here.

Cutting-Edge Technology for an Immersive Experience

I used cutting-edge photography technologies to make this virtual tour an exceptional immersive experience. Thanks to the capture of very high definition images, the resulting 360 image is in 60K. I used HDR technology on 9 diaphragms, in order to present all the nuances of light in a relatively dark universe. Visitors can navigate through the rooms, zoom in on the artist's personal objects. The audio tour allows them to listen to exclusive anecdotes about his life and work. Special features, such as audio descriptions and subtitles, are also available for visually and hearing impaired visitors. Finally, a standalone version has been developed specifically for people who cannot interact with the device.

The benefits of a virtual tour for people with disabilities

Serge Gainsbourg's house, although small and steeped in history, presents accessibility challenges for people with reduced mobility. With this virtual tour, we can break down these barriers and allow a wider audience to discover this legendary place. This production ensures compliance with accessibility standards (RGAA), which actually goes far beyond these standards. The museum itself is fully accessible to people with disabilities.
